One picture showing a breeding pair of Common toads. Taken using a new camera (fujifilm S9600) so any comments would be useful.

My previous camera was the previous model of Fuji 'bridge camera', the S9500 and I was always happy with it except for its weight; most pictures on the lehart website were taken with it - www.lehart.org;

I bought an Olympus 570 bridge camera because it was lighter and has a 20x optical zoom; picture quality is not appreciably better but you can take a decent photo of a skittish lizard / snake from twice the distance, though the camera needs to be on firm ground or securely supported to avoid shake.

I certainly can't see the point of 'proper' DSLRs where you get locked into buying lenses which then need upgrading and changing in the field - meanwhile the animal has long gone, when you can buy a really good 10MP bridge digital camera with a good quality lens for around 200 - 250 quid, unless you are a 'pro'

Cheers
